Tinubu Conferred With Knight Commander Of The Order Of Saint Lucia 

Saint Lucia has conferred its highest national honour—the Knight Commander of the Order of Saint Lucia (KCOSL)—on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in recognition of his efforts to deepen historical, cultural, and diplomatic ties between Africa and the Caribbean. 

The formal investiture was conducted by Governor‑General Errol Charles during a State Banquet at Morne Fortune on Monday night. Tinubu becomes one of only a handful of African leaders to receive this prestigious award  

In accepting the honour, President Tinubu—now granted the honorific prefix “Sir”—expressed gratitude and described it as symbolic of a growing partnership with Saint Lucia and the wider Eastern Caribbean

He also pledged to foster stronger cooperation with the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), using the accolade as a platform to advance “South–South cooperation” and shared prosperity . 

The honour comes amid Tinubu’s state visit to Saint Lucia, forming part of a wider mission to promote Nigerian diplomacy and cultural engagement across South America and the Caribbean
