Abakaliki FC head coach, Ifeanyi Onyedikachi, has expressed strong confidence that his team will defeat Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Kwara United in the final of the President Federation Cup.
The decisive clash is scheduled to take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, on Saturday.
Onyedikachi dismissed any notion that Kwara United—nicknamed the Harmony Boys—pose an overwhelming threat, insisting his team is prepared to rise to the occasion.
“We defeated Enyimba, Nasarawa United, Katsina United, Ikorodu City—all NPFL clubs. So, Kwara United is just one of them too. They’re not invincible,” Onyedikachi said during his pre-match interview.
The winner of the competition will earn a spot in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
El-Kanemi Warriors were the previous winners of the Federation Cup, having defeated Abia Warriors in last year’s final.
