Paul Onuachu is on the verge of completing a permanent move to Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor.
The Nigerian striker, who is currently on the books of Sky Bet Championship club Southampton, spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Trabzonspor, where he made a strong impression by netting 15 goals in just 21 league matches.
Trabzonspor had previously attempted to sign Onuachu permanently last summer but were unsuccessful. However, following Southampton’s recent relegation from the Premier League, the Turkish club has reignited its pursuit of the towering forward.
Negotiations between the two clubs are now at an advanced stage, with reports suggesting Trabzonspor has tabled a €5 million bid for the 30-year-old. This represents a significant drop from the €18 million Southampton paid to sign Onuachu from Belgian side KRC Genk in January 2023.
A deal appears close, as Trabzonspor look to secure one of their top performers from last season on a long-term basis.
