Your Pain Is My Pain” — MI Abaga Condemns Benue Killings, Demands Justice

Renowned Nigerian rapper and music executive, Jude Abaga, popularly known as MI, has spoken out against the recent wave of violence in Benue State, expressing heartfelt sorrow and standing in solidarity with the affected communities.

In a poignant post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, MI lamented the bloodshed in the Middle Belt region, urging an end to the cycle of violence that has gripped the area for years.

“My heart is heavy,” he wrote. “It grieves me deeply to witness so much of the Middle Belt bleed. The recent killings in Benue are not just numbers — these are our people, our families, our communities being ripped apart.”

Reaffirming his support for those impacted, he added, “I stand in solidarity with my brothers and sisters in Benue. Your pain is my pain. We cannot afford to normalise this violence that has haunted our land for too long. To those we’ve lost — we will never forget you. To those still standing — we stand with you.”

MI also called on the government to launch a transparent investigation into the attacks and to increase security presence in vulnerable communities to prevent further loss of life.
