Benue Killings Are a National Emergency – 2Face Idibia Cries Out

Nigerian music legend and Technical Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Entertainment and Community Outreach, Innocent “2Face” Idibia, has decried the relentless violence in Benue State, describing the ongoing killings as a national emergency.

In an emotional video message, 2Face expressed profound grief and frustration over the repeated attacks, calling for urgent and unified action from all stakeholders across the state.

“My heart is heavy. I am terribly sad and angry. What is happening in Benue State has become a national emergency,” he said.
“I can’t wrap my head around it anymore. I don’t even know what to say at this point. This has to stop.”

The music icon, visibly distressed, urged political leaders, community elders, and citizens to set aside personal and political differences and come together to put an end to the bloodshed.

“My sadness, my anger, my frustration… it’s overwhelming that this keeps happening over and over again. This is no longer something we can just condemn with words. Serious action needs to be taken,” he stressed.
“Every stakeholder in Benue must join hands. We can end this. I believe there is a solution.”

2Face’s plea comes amid renewed outrage over a recent massacre in Yelewata, Benue State, where over 100 people were reportedly killed by suspected herdsmen militia.

His statement has resonated deeply with many Nigerians online, reigniting calls for the federal government to treat the crisis with the urgency and seriousness it demands.
