Gary Lineker Backs Spurs to Win Europa League Final Against United

England football legend Gary Lineker has shared his prediction for the UEFA Europa League final set to take place on Wednesday between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, Lineker tipped Tottenham Hotspur to emerge victorious at the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao. The highly anticipated final sees two Premier League giants, both of whom have endured disastrous domestic seasons—finishing 16th and 17th respectively—battle it out for European glory and a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Lineker, who played for Tottenham Hotspur between 1989 and 1992, believes his former club will rise to the occasion and secure their third UEFA Europa League title.

“I’m going to go for Spurs… But it could easily go to extra-time,” Lineker remarked during the podcast.

Tottenham will have to navigate the final without several key players. Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, and Lucas Bergvall have all been ruled out due to injuries.

Meanwhile, Manchester United fans will also be disappointed as they are unlikely to see Lisandro Martinez, Diogo Dalot, Joshua Zirkzee, and Leny Yoro in action tonight, with all expected to miss out.
