Mr Macaroni Slams JAMB Over ‘Technical Glitch’ in 2025 UTME: “This Is Unacceptable!”

Popular Nigerian actor and activist, Mr Macaroni, has expressed strong outrage following the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)’s recent admission of a “technical glitch” that disrupted the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in 157 centres nationwide.
The glitch, which affected thousands of candidates, led to widespread poor performance and immediately triggered public backlash. In response, JAMB issued a statement via its official social media account, confirming the disruption:
“Man proposes, God disposes! It has been established that a technical glitch affected 157 centres out of the 887 used in the 2025 UTME. This was primarily responsible for the general low performance of the candidates scheduled to sit the examination in those centres. All affected candidates will be contacted to reprint their examination slips for a rescheduled exam starting May 16, 2025.”
The tone of the statement, particularly the phrase “Man proposes, God disposes,” sparked further anger online, with many Nigerians calling it tone-deaf and dismissive of the students’ plight.
Among those who voiced their frustration was Mr Macaroni, who took to social media to condemn JAMB’s handling of the situation.
“I still can’t believe this level of incompetence and irresponsibility, laced with total lack of regard for all those affected. This can only happen in a country where there are no consequences for actions!
We, as a people, have become so comfortable with accepting rubbish!!!” he wrote.
The actor’s comments echoed the sentiments of many Nigerians who believe that systemic failure and lack of accountability continue to jeopardize the futures of young citizens. As the rescheduled exams approach, pressure is mounting on JAMB to ensure transparency and fairness in the process.
