Wolfsburg Sack Hasenhuettl After Heavy Dortmund Defeat

Bundesliga side Wolfsburg have parted ways with manager Ralph Hasenhuettl following a 4-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

The club announced the Austrians’ dismissal in a statement on Sunday, citing poor recent results as the reason for the decision. Wolfsburg have lost six of their last eight matches and managed just two wins since January, slipping to 12th in the Bundesliga standings after once being in contention for European qualification.

Hasenhuettl took charge in March 2024, replacing Niko Kovac—who now manages Dortmund—after previously leading Southampton for four years in the Premier League.

Wolfsburg confirmed that Under-19 coach Daniel Bauer will take over on an interim basis for the remainder of the season.
