Cole Palmer Ends Goal Drought, Shrugs Off Critics After Chelsea’s Win Over Liverpool

Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has brushed off concerns surrounding his recent goal drought, asserting that the extended dry spell had little impact on his mindset or confidence.

Palmer found the net during Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Liverpool on Sunday, converting a stoppage-time penalty that handed the reigning champions just their third Premier League defeat of the season. The goal was Palmer’s first since January, ending a months-long scoring hiatus.

Speaking to Sky Sports following the match, Palmer was candid about his goal-scoring lull but insisted it didn’t weigh heavily on him emotionally.

“Not scoring for months? I felt normal,” he said. “Obviously sh*t happens, you know what I mean.”

A central figure in Chelsea’s attacking line-up this season, Palmer emphasized that the goal drought only strengthened his drive to improve both individually and for the team.

“It gives me more fight and motivation to do more for myself and for the team,” he explained.

Palmer also addressed the wave of online criticism he has faced during his goal-less run, dismissing the negativity with little concern.

“Social media nowadays is full of idiots, trolls… I don’t care about that,” the England international remarked.

With his latest goal, Palmer appears to have rediscovered his form at a crucial stage in Chelsea’s campaign, while maintaining a grounded and defiant attitude in the face of pressure.
