Governor Bago Relaxes Night Curfew on Okadas and Keke in Minna

Revised curfew now runs from 8 PM to 6 AM as government responds to improving security situation in Niger State’s capital.

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has revised the curfew hours for motorcycle and tricycle operations in Minna, the state capital.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary via X (formerly Twitter), the governor said:

“The adjustment, which takes effect from Monday, May 5, will now restrict the movement of motorcycles and tricycles from 8 PM to 6 AM daily.”

Governor Bago noted that the decision follows a fresh security assessment presented by the state security committee.

Popularly known as the “farmer governor,” Bago reaffirmed his commitment to public safety and called on residents to remain law-abiding.

This new directive comes after an earlier 6 PM to 6 AM curfew was imposed across Minna in response to rising cases of youth violence and insecurity.
