Governor Okpebholo Suspends Edo Primary Healthcare Agency Boss Over Financial Mismanagement

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has suspended Caulson Osoikhia Oahimire, the Executive Secretary of the Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (EDSPHCDA), over allegations of serious financial misconduct.

A statement issued on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, announced that Dr. Oahimire’s suspension is effective immediately.

The directive includes the appointment of the most senior staff within the agency to assume leadership responsibilities on an interim basis.

This measure is pending the outcome of a thorough investigation by a special committee to be constituted by the state government.

Governor Okpebholo’s decision underscores his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability in public service.

This action adds to a series of similar suspensions within the state, including those of Attorney-General Samson Osagie and Local Government Service Commission Chairman Damian Lawani, both of whom were suspended in February 2025 over alleged financial infractions.

The ongoing investigations reflect the governor’s resolve to address and rectify any financial improprieties within the state’s public institutions.
