The 7th Africa Procurement and Supply Chain Summit is set to take place on July 3-4, 2025, in Lagos, bringing together industry leaders, supply chain professionals, and regulators from across the continent to drive transformation in Africa’s procurement sector.
Themed “Driving Impact through Innovation: The Future of Procurement & Supply in Africa,” the summit aims to explore cutting-edge innovations and strategies to enhance procurement practices and make supply chains more efficient and development-focused.
President of the African Public Procurement Network (APPN) and CEO of Zimbabwe’s Procurement Regulatory Authority (PRAZ) Clever Ruswa, will deliver the keynote address. Ruswa is expected to emphasize strengthening procurement governance to promote transparency, sustainability, and competitiveness.
Describing the event as a “critical stage for elevating procurement standards,” Ruswa plans to highlight how innovation and best practices can boost transparency, foster sustainable growth, and unlock Africa’s economic potential.
The APPN, representing public procurement bodies from 46 African countries, has been actively pushing reforms to align with global standards while addressing Africa’s specific economic challenges under Ruswa’s leadership.
Ruswa’s extensive background in finance, infrastructure, and regulatory leadership equips him to guide procurement reforms that promote fairness and accountability in public procurement.
The summit will also feature contributions from major industry players such as MTN, Ghana’s National Petroleum Authority, Volta River Authority, and Flour Mills of Nigeria Limited, providing a platform for benchmarking, exchanging ideas, and tackling emerging procurement challenges across Africa.
