At least 30 national teams have now booked their spots at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with France becoming the latest to qualify following a dominant 4–0 victory over Ukraine on Thursday night.
Kylian Mbappé scored a brace, while Michael Olise and Hugo Ekitike added a goal each to seal France’s place at the global showpiece.
In Europe, Norway’s 4–1 win over Estonia has all but guaranteed their qualification, putting them ahead of Italy in Group I.
The tournament’s co-hosts — the United States, Canada and Mexico — were allocated automatic qualification slots.
They join at least 27 other countries that have already secured their places, including debutants Cape Verde, Jordan and Uzbekistan.
