2Baba Says Faze Remains Neutral Amid Ongoing Feud With Blackface

Veteran Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has stated that his former bandmate Faze is not involved in the long-running dispute between him and Blackface.

The award-winning artist made this clarification while addressing fans at the Made in Benue Festival held in Makurdi, Benue State, where he appeared on stage alongside Faze.

2Baba explained that despite the unresolved issues between himself and Blackface, Faze has chosen to remain neutral and continues to maintain a professional relationship with him. He stressed that the disagreement does not extend to the third member of the defunct music group, Plantashun Boiz.

According to the singer, Faze’s presence on stage was symbolic, representing the legacy of Plantashun Boiz and reaffirming their ongoing collaboration. He noted that while Blackface was absent due to unresolved circumstances, the group’s identity was still being honoured.

“You all know that Plantashun Boiz consisted of Blackface, 2Face, and Faze. But due to some unforeseen circumstances, Blackface is not with us right now,” 2Baba told the audience.
“However, no matter the beef between me and Blackface, Faze is not involved. He is here with me, and together we will represent Plantashun Boiz.”

The feud between 2Baba and Blackface has spanned several years, largely centred on allegations of intellectual property theft made by Blackface. These claims have consistently been denied by 2Baba.

2Baba’s remarks appear aimed at drawing a clear line between personal disputes and professional relationships, while reaffirming unity with Faze in celebrating the musical legacy of Plantashun Boiz.
