According to Don Jazzy, artists who release fewer songs under the label often make those decisions themselves rather than being restricted by management.

“We do see lots of comments that we do not prioritise some artists. But that isn’t true,” he said.

The Mavin Records founder explained that the label’s goal is to help its artists succeed commercially, adding that neglecting any signed act would be counterproductive.

“If you see an artist in Mavin and the artist only releases one or two songs in a year, just know that it is the artist’s decision,” he stated.

He identified imposter syndrome and overthinking as factors affecting some artists within the industry, stressing that such challenges are common among creatives.

“Most of them actually have imposter syndrome. It’s normal. We are all human beings, so sometimes they can panic and overthink things,” he added.

The veteran producer maintained that there is no deliberate policy within Mavin Records to promote one artist above another.
