Zamalek Part Ways with Jose Peseiro After Disappointing Draw

Egyptian football giants Zamalek announced on Wednesday that they have parted ways with former Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro. The decision came after the club’s recent 2-2 draw with National Bank. Peseiro, 65, had been with the club since February, signing a two-year contract.

In an official statement, Zamalek confirmed that the separation was by mutual consent: “Zamalek and Jose Peseiro agree to end the relationship by mutual consent. We wish him the best in future,” the statement read.

Peseiro had faced mounting pressure after Zamalek’s elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup last month, with the club losing 1-0 on aggregate to South Africa’s Stellenbosch. Domestically, Zamalek has struggled, sitting seven points behind surprise leaders Pyramids FC.

During his tenure, Peseiro managed 17 matches for Zamalek, securing seven wins, eight draws, and two losses.
