World Earth day 2022: UN renews commitment to joint climate action, environmental protection

The United Nations has urged world leaders to come together to tackle the earth’s climate crisis.

In a message to mark the International Mother Earth Day 2022, the Secretary General of the UN, Antonio Guterres, stressed the need for the world to act faster to avert the climate cata-strophe, adding that there are possibilities if the world acts as one to tackle the crisis.

According to Guterres, the world must limit global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees, cut emissions by 45% by the year 2030, and achieve carbon neutrality by the year 2050 to achieve success in the crisis.
