World Cup qualifier: Flamingos to depart for Guinea today


Nigeria’s U-17 female national team, Flamingos, will depart for Conakry, Guinea on Thursday for the first leg of their 2020 U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The Nigerian Football Federation, NFF said this in a statement released on Wednesday.

According to the NFF a total of 18 players comprising of two goalkeepers, five defenders, six midfielders and five forwards were shortlisted for the tie.

The players, who will be led by stand-in coach Bankole Olowookere, will play against their Guinean counterparts on Saturday, with the return leg billed to hold on the 14th of March at the Agege Stadium in Lagos.
