US to partner with Nigeria on G7 infrastructure programme

The United States has announced its plans to partner with Nigeria on a G-7 Infrastructure Programme known as the Build Back Better World.

White House Deputy National Security Advisor, Jonathan Finer, disclosed this during a visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday where he was received by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, revealed in a statement that Finer explained that the programme “involves bringing together a range of funding sources, development finance and private sector to work with key partner-countries to develop their infrastructure and fill the gap between infrastructure needs and the current state of infrastructure.”

According to the statement, Osinbajo also took the opportunity to express the federal government’s gratitude to the US for donating over 3.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Nigeria.
