US CONSULAR GENERAL APPLAUDS NAVY OVER REDUCED PIRATE ATTACKS IN GULF OF GUINEA

The United States Consulate General William Stevens has applauded the Nigerian Navy over reduced piracy attacks in the Gulf of Guinea.

Stevens gave the commendation in Lagos accompanying the Ship’s Company of the US Coast Guard, Cutter MOHAWK, on a courtesy visit to the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Yakubu Wambai where he said the visitation will further bilateral relations between both countries as they work in sustaining the fight against piracy in Nigeria waters and in the Gulf of Guinea.

Receiving the consulate general with his entourage, Rear Admiral Wambai said the Nigerian navy will continue to have this series of collaborative efforts of international partners working together to ensure that the synergy in combating the scourge while he added that no one country can do it alone.
