More lawmakers at the National Assembly have denied receiving contracts from the Niger Delta development, NDDC.
Matthew Urhoghide who represents Edo South in the senate was named by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, as one of the lawmakers who benefited from contracts issued by the commission. According to Akpabio, Urhoghide was awarded six contracts by the NDDC.
But reacting on Wednesday Urhoghide denied the claims, describing it as untrue and a ploy to misinform the public and his constituency in particular.
In the same vein, a former senator representing Imo east, Samuel Anyanwu, has denied receiving 19 NDDC contracts as claimed by Akpabio.
In a purported document released by Akpabio, five lawmakers including Chairman of the Senate Committee on Niger Delta, Peter Nwabaoshi were named as persons who got NDDC contracts. They all have however denied the allegations.
