Yoruba Nation agitators are set to embark on a protest in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Wednesday to demand the release of their embattled leader Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho.
Igboho was arrested with his wife, Ropo, while trying to leave Nigeria for Germany through Benin Republic on Monday night.
Igboho’s spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, posted a notice on Facebook on Wednesday, calling on the activist’s supporters to mobilize for a protest in Ibadan.
“Emergency, emergency, emergency, emergency, please we beg all agitators to converge at Chief Sunday Igboho’s house for a peaceful demonstration to show the world the kind of person he is as one of the conditions given for his release, please let’s all be at his house in Soka, Ibadan before 12 o clock today,” the notice read.
Igboho was declared wanted on July 1, 2021 when the Department of State Services (DSS) raided his Soka residence in Ibadan, arrested 12 of his aides and killed two others.
