UNESCO confab: Stakeholders heighten call for global funding of media & information literacy

Nigeria has successfully hosted the 2022 UNESCO Global Media and Information Literacy Week in Abuja.

Speaking during the adoption of the Abuja Declaration document on Global Financing for Media and Information Literacy, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, called for global funding to adequately mitigate the impact of the surge of dis-information.

He re-echoed Nigeria’s continued commitment towards championing the cause of Media and Information Literacy policies across the World.

The Minister also commended security forces who ensured a peaceful atmosphere during the event at a period of terror alerts.
