UK sanctions Equatorial Guinea Vice-President


The United Kingdom has placed travel ban on the vice-president of Equatorial Guinea and four others it accuses of corruption.

The European country also froze all assets belonging to Teodoro Obiang Mangue.

Mangue is accused of misappropriating state finances to fund a lavish lifestyle which he purchased mansions, a private jet and Michael Jackson memorabilia with..

Others sanctioned are Kudakwashe Regimond Tagwirei, a Zimbabwean businessman with close links to the government, a former Iraqi politician and two Venezuelans.

Manque’s father, Teodoro Obiang has ruled Equatorial Guinea for more than 40 years.
