The boxing bout between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr scheduled to take place on September 12 has been postponed.
Tyson, 54, was poised to meet 51-year-old Jones inside the squared circle in a special eight-round exhibition fight next month but the event will now be taking place two months later on November 28.
According to reports, the main reason for the postponement is because representatives of both sides agreed that rescheduling the event could bring extra revenue.
Last month, California State Athletic Commission executive director Andy Forster said, “This isn’t a situation where they’re going out there to try to take each other’s heads off.
“They’re just going to be in there moving around the ring and letting fans see these legends.”
The set of rules for the bout are especially different with both boxing legends wearing heavier gloves and no judges scoring the fight.
