Two members of the House of Representatives, Idagbo Ochiglegoor and Michael Etaba both from cross-rivers state have defected from the People’s Democratic Party PDP to the All Progressives Congress APC.
Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila announced their defection on the floor of the green chamber during plenary on Tuesday.
Ochiglegoor represent Obanliku/Obudu/Bekwarra federal constituency while and Etaba is the rep for Obubra/Etung federal constituency in Cross Rivers State.
The two Reps noted that they were tired of the crisis going on in the People’s Democratic Party camp, hence, the reason for their defection for a more peaceful party.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minority Leader of the House alleged that the reason the lawmakers gave was false and invalid as there is no crisis in the PDP as they claimed.
The defection comes weeks after Ben Ayade, governor of Cross River, dumped the PDP for the APC.
