Social media platform, Twitter has expressed willingness to meet the Nigerian government for discussions over the suspension of its operation in the country.
The social media giant on Friday posted on its platform that the company is ready to meet with the federal government for an open discussion in order to restore its services that was earlier banned.
It posted; “Today marks one week since Twitter was blocked in Nigeria. We have informed the Nigerian government that we are ready to meet for an open discussion to address mutual concerns and see the service restored. We remain advocates for the free and #OpenInternet everywhere. #KeepitOn.”
Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed had earlier in the week informed newsmen that Twitter’s management is seeking a “high-level discussion” to resolve the issue that led to the suspension.
The Federal Government had suspended Twitter’s operation in Nigeria saying it’s allowing its platform to be used to threaten the country’s cooperate existence.
