The Defense Headquarters has announced that troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised four terrorists who are members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), along Damboa-Bulabulin-Maiduguri road.
Spokesperson of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu confirmed in a statement that some arms and ammunitions were recovered from the terrorists in the firefight that ensued with the troops.
He added that that the troops recovered four AK 47 rifles and four Magazines, each loaded with 30 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition from the troops.
According to the statement, In another operation, troops in conjunction with elements of Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Borno State killed two ISWAP terrorists in an ambush operation and captured an ISWAP logistics vehicle conveying assorted goods and contraband items belonging to members of the terrorist group.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya in response commended the troops for their acheivment while urging them to maintain the tempo in order to decisively root out the terrorists in the naton.
