Tribunal upholds APC victory in Niger governorship poll


The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Niger State has dismissed a petition challenging the election victory of Governor Abubakar Bello.

A Justice John Igboji led Tribunal dismissed the petition on grounds that it constitutes an abuse of court process because it had been heard and decided by a Federal High Court.

The petition was filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate Umar Nasko.

According to the appellants, Bello who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), ubmitted forged certificates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
