Three killed in Ukraine plane crash

Ukrain’s minister of infrastructure, Vladyslav Kryklii says at least three people died have died on Friday, after a transport plane crash landed in western Ukraine.

The Antonov-12 had eight people on board, when the accident occurred 1.5 kilometres (just over a mile) from the runway at Lviv airport.

Emergency services say in addition to the three confirmed dead, three others sustained injuries in the crash, crew members were trapped in the wreckage and two more are missing.

Kryklii said the aircraft was operated by Kiev-based company Ukraine Air Alliance and flying in from Vigo in Spain. He added that it was thought the plane had run out of fuel.

The emergency services posted a picture of the plane with one wing ripped off.
