Three Gambian ministers test positive for coronavirus

Three ministers in Gambia’s government have tested positive for the coronavirus, days after the country’s Vice President Isatou Touray contracted the virus.

This was confirmed in a statement by the presidency.

The infected ministers are Mambureh Njie (Finance Minister), Fafa Sanyang (Petroleum and Energy Minister) and Amie Fabureh (Agriculture Minister).

Last week, President Adama Barrow said he would self-isolate for two weeks after the Vice President tested positive.

The Gambia has so far confirmed nearly 500 coronavirus cases and nine deaths.
