Thirteen killed in Lagos-Ibadan auto crash


No fewer than thirteen persons have been confirmed killed in an auto crash at Sapade-Ogere axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The incident was confirmed by the Federal Road Safety Corps Ogun State Command sector commander, Clement Oladele.

According to Oladele, the accident involved 37 persons comprising 20 male and 15 female adults, as well as two female children were involved in the crash, but only four male adults, seven females and two children, died in the crash.

He adds that the incident involved three vehicles comprising a speeding truck which suddenly suffered a burst tyre and in the process collided head on with two other speeding commuter buses.

The tragedy happened where a diversion was created by RCC, the construction company rehabilitating the corridor.

The dead bodies have now been deposited at the Ipara Mortuary.
