Taraba govt. imposes curfew on Jalingo


The Taraba State Government has imposed a curfew on Jalingo, the state capital following an attack on two communities in the region.

Unknown gunmen had on Sunday attacked Kona and ATC areas of Jalingo killing no fewer than eight people.

The attack left panic and fear among residents.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Bala Dan Abu, said the curfew would last between 4:00 pm to 6:00 am daily until further notice.

Security agencies have also been deployed various area of the region to ensure full compliance with the curfew and security of lives and property.
