As reported by Marca, Guerra and his representatives have thoroughly reviewed Valencia’s proposal and concluded that it does not align with their expectations. The player’s camp is reportedly holding out for a more favorable offer, even as United continue to assess the evolving situation.

In a separate transfer development, Bayer Leverkusen have set their sights on Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling during this summer’s window.

Football transfer insider Ben Jacobs has revealed that Sterling is attracting attention from both Leverkusen and Italian giants Juventus.

Having returned to pre-season training two weeks ago, the England international is preparing under the assumption that Chelsea will soon outline potential exit routes. The West London club is prepared to part ways with Sterling for a fee in the region of £20 million, following his loan spell at Arsenal last season.

“Let’s get started. Erik ten Hag signs with Bayer 04 as our new head coach until 2027,” the club announced in a statement posted Monday on X (formerly Twitter).

Ten Hag, 55, succeeds Xabi Alonso, who led Leverkusen to significant domestic success before stepping down. Following Alonso’s departure, Ten Hag quickly emerged as the leading candidate for the role.

Bayer Leverkusen confirmed that the agreement is a two-year deal, lasting through the end of the 2026/27 season.

During his unveiling, Ten Hag expressed his enthusiasm about joining the club and praised Leverkusen’s reputation and professionalism.

“Bayer Leverkusen is one of the best clubs in Germany and also belongs to the expanded European elite. The club offers excellent conditions, and I was very impressed with the conversations I had with the club’s leadership,” Ten Hag stated.

Boniface, 24, came close to joining Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr in January, but the club ultimately chose to sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa instead.

The Nigerian international has dealt with injury setbacks this season but still managed to score 11 goals in 27 Bundesliga appearances. Despite the challenges, he was a key figure in Leverkusen’s domestic double triumph last season.

Boniface joined the German club in 2023 from Belgian Pro League side Union Saint-Gilloise.
