Sunday Igboho’s detention: Police disperse protest in Ibadan


Armed policemen have dispersed supporters of Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, who staged a protest in Ibadan against his arrest and detention in Benin Republic.

Igboho and his wife, Ropo, was arrested on Monday night in Cotonou, on his way to Germany.

Both of them are currently being detained in Benin Republic although the Federal Government has not said anything about Igboho’s arrest and detention.

The protesters who stormed Igboho’s Ibadan residence on Wednesday afternoon were said to have called on Yoruba leaders and the international community to fight for the activist’s release.

According to eyewitnesses, the policemen came in about four patrol vans and a car to disperse the protesters.
