English actor Tom Holland, best known for portraying Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has sustained a mild concussion while filming his next project.

According to CNN, the on-set incident did not require hospitalization. A source confirmed that Holland will take a short break from production “out of precaution” and is expected to return to work within a few days.

“Tom experienced a mild concussion and out of precaution, he will take a break from filming and is expected to return to work in a few days,” the source told CNN.

Holland’s representative also reassured fans that the situation was under control, adding: “Thankfully, no one else was affected and production will continue as planned.”

The upcoming film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, marks Holland’s fourth outing as the iconic web-slinger.

Now 29, Holland began his career as a stage performer in Billy Elliot: The Musical before breaking into film with the disaster drama The Impossible (2012). His career skyrocketed in 2016 when he debuted as Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War, later headlining a trilogy of Spider-Man films and joining ensemble hits Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Beyond Marvel, Holland has showcased his range with roles in Cherry (2021) and the action adventure Uncharted (2022).
