Sowore remanded in DSS custody after pleading not guilty to charges

Omyele Sowore, activist and convener of #RevolutionNow protest, has pleaded not guilty to charges filed against them by the Federal Government.

Sowore was arraigned alongside one Olawale Bakare before the federal High court on seven charges bordering on alleged conspiracy to commit treason, money laundering, and insulting the President, among others.

A cheerful and healthy looking Sowore was led into the court by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Monday, after the agency refused to release him despite meeting his bail condition.

After taking their plea, the court ordered that the defendants be remanded in the custody of the DSS until their application is heard on Thursday.
