Six rescued from Lagos building collapse

Six persons have been rescued from the rubbles of a building that collapsed in the Osasa area of Bariga, Lagos State.

The three-storey building reportedly collapsed at about 9:30pm on Sunday trapping an unconfirmed number of residents.

Operatives of the Lagos emergency management agency, LASEMA have since arrived the scene.

The agency says all injured persons have been moved to the hospital for medical treatment.

LASEMA also confirmed that that all residents have been evacuated from the building and the premises sealed.

The agency however failed to give a casualty figure on the development.

“Men of the Lagos State Fire Service are already on the ground, but they are unable to gain entry yet, because the road to the scene is really bad,” Dele Timothy, a resident in the area told journalists.
