Over six persons have been reportedly killed in separate attacks carried out by unknown gunmen in four communities in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to a report from the Headquarters of Operation Safe Haven, Kigom, Kikoba, Kishisho and Ungwa Magaji Magaji villages were attacked on Monday morning by unknown assailants who opened fire on the locals, and in the process, killed six people.
Eight houses, farmlands and some other valuable property were razed to the ground by the criminals.
The criminals however fled upon arrival of troops who engaged them in a gun battle.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai in a statement on Tuesday condemned the attack, describing it as an action of depraved entities stripped of every shred of humanity.
The Governor while also praying for the repose of the souls of the victims,tasked security agencies working in the area to investigate the incident thoroughly and make sure the perpetrators are brought to book.
