Senate passes 2020 budget after raising estimate by N260bn


The Senate has passed the 2020 Appropriation bill after the adoption of the reports submitted by the Committees on Appropriation of both the Senate and the House of Representatives. 

The Senate has however raised the estimates by N260 billion to bring it to N10.59 trillion. 

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan had announced on Wednesday that the 2020 Appropriation bill before the parliament will be passed today the 5th of December. 

He informed lawmakers at plenary shortly after the Public Procurement Act 2007 amendment bills were passed, which he believes, will complement the 2020 budget. 

The arrangements for the passage of the budget was finalised with the submission of reports by the Committees on Appropriation of both chambers.
