Senate has confirmed the appointment of AbdulRasheed Bawa as the new chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commisiion, EFCC after screening him for over two hours.
During the screening exercise, the senators took turns to ask questions and also give advice to Bawa.
Deputy Senate president, Ovie Omo-Agege while commenting on Bawa’s appointment said his nomination has generated hope for the youth.
Also commenting, Bala Na’Allah, former deputy majority leader, said Bawa has displayed the capacity to run the anti-graft agency calling on his colleagues to approve the 40 year old.
Bawa thereafter denied the corruption allegations that were levelled against him.
Last week, President Muhammadu Buhari nominated Bawa as EFCC chairman and requested the upper legislative chamber to confirm him.
