Senate adjourns plenary till July 2


The newly inaugurated ninth senate has adjourned legislative activities till July 2nd.

President of the Senate Ahmed Lawan said the adjournment is to take care of housekeeping, and to give the committee enough time to do its work.

The senate president had set up of an adhoc committee

The House of Representatives also adjourned until July 2.

At plenary, the speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila announced the creation of three ad hoc committees to run the affairs of the House.

Chairman of the Ad hoc committee on Media, Khadija Naija Abba Ibrahim, disclosed this while addressing National Assembly Correspondents.

The announcement came after about four hours of a closed door meeting. The committee also announced that the Speaker had cancelled the traditional victory party after election
