Deposed Emir of Kano state, Lamido Sanusi, has officially challenged his detention and confinement in Nasarawa state.
Sanusi in a suit filed before the Federal High Court in Abuja asked the court to issue an order for his release.
After his dethronement on Monday, Sanusi was moved from the palace in Kano to Awe in Nasarawa State where he has been reportedly detained in an apartment.
Sanusi’s team of lawyers led by Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), on Thursday, filed a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/357/2020 before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The respondents to the application are the Inspector-General of Police, the Director-General of the Department of State Service, the Attorney-General of Kano State and the Attorney-General of the Federation, Punch reports.
