Russia-Ukraine War: Eu seeks partnership of Nigeria on energy transition


Following gas supply cuts by Russia and the instability in the gas market, the European Union is seeking the partnership of the Nigerian Government as it looks to mitigate the ripple effects of the Russia-Ukraine War.

The Deputy Director-General, European Union Energy Platform Task Force, Matthew Baldwin who is on a fact-finding mission to Nigeria told journalists that the EU is looking to increase Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) imports from Nigeria.

On the transition of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation to a private limited company, the EU pledged its support to ensure the attainment of set targets.
