Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 inspects Abba Kyari’s office

Chairman of the Presidential Task Force for the control of coronavirus (COVID-19), Boss Mustapha, has visited the State House, Abuja, amid speculation of suspected case of the virus.

The Presidential Task Force, comprising ministers and health experts, embarked on an inspection tour of some offices in the Presidential Villa, including that of the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari.

Their visit came hours after Kyari tested positive for the coronavirus disease.

Responding to questions on the health status of staff of the State House Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed said: “We don’t mention names in carrying out this responsibility. It’s a global practice so you don’t expect us to mention any name to you.”

Secretary to Government of the Federation, Mustapha, advised journalists to wear face masks to protect themselves from the disease.

“You people should start wearing face masks please. I can see that you are not taking this thing seriously. Wear face masks please. It is not a joke,’’ he said.

The task force declined further comments on their mission to villa, while urging Nigerians to await their usual press briefing.
