President Muhammadu Buhari has given a marching order to all heads of security and intelligent agencies to rescue all hostages in the captivity of bandits across the country, particularly victims of the recent train terrorist attack.
The President gave the order when he met with heads of security establishments and some Ministers at the State House in Abuja.
Briefing state house correspondents at the end of the meeting which lasted for over three hours, the national security adviser, Babagana Monguno said a memo on the need to increase security operations along the vast national land borders was also considered.
Meanwhile the nation’s intelligence agencies have been specifically directed to provide the needed human and local intelligence.
The NSA however stressed on the need for the larger society to be more committed to providing such intelligence that could complement the strategic security operations across the country.
President Buhari had on Wednesday at the meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) warned of tougher security measures in restive parts of the country and review of operations and strategy.
