President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with families who lost their loved ones in the Ijegun pipeline explosion on Thursday.
In a statement signed by his special adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, President Buhari urged Nigerians to shun vandalism
“President Buhari condoles with people and government of Lagos over the fire disaster that claimed lives and property, urging security agencies to ensure that those behind the unfortunate incident are brought to justice.
“The President calls on all Nigerians to avoid tampering with pipelines and sensitive installations across the country, admonishing that such interferences put many lives at risk.
“He prays that God will accept the soul of the departed and comfort their families.”
No fewer than two people were killed after pipeline vandals attempting to steal fuel caused an explosion in the Ijegun area of Lagos state.
About twelve people sustained injury from the blast, while over thirty cars were destroyed in the inferno.
