President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians that his administration will do everything to ensure a free, fair and credible electoral process in the 2023 general election.
President Buhari gave the assurance in an address to commemorate the 2022 democracy day celebration.
In 2018, the government moved democracy day from the 29th of May to June 12 to remind Nigerians of the free and fairest election announced in the country in which the acclaimed winner and Nigerians were denied their rights and their choice.
Emphasizing that the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes of democracy will never be forgotten, President Buhari pledged to ensure that a new leader is enthroned into power through peaceful, free and fair elections.
He also called for the cooperation of Nigerians in tackling insecurity through intelligence sharing with security operatives.
