The Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu, has announced that the national grid, which collapsed a few hours ago, has now been recovered.
Aliyu made this known while addressing journalists after Wednesday’s federal executive council FEC meeting presided over by the Vice President Yemi Oshin-bajo. Aliyu said several resolutions have emerged from a series of emergency meetings held by the power ministry, where all stakeholders have extensively discussed the issues and resolved all bickering. The minister, who likened Nigeria’s power challenge to a war situation, revealed that the Council gave approval for the sum of N5 billion Naira to open up and expand Lagos and Ogun, to re-inforce power supply to that region. To discuss the collapse of the national grid, I’m now joined on the news by Eloka Umeh who is the Chief Executive Officer of Century Power Generation Limited.
