Police to deploy over 30,000 officers for Kogi/Bayelsa polls

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has said the security agency would deploy 31,041 and 35,200 personnel for the Bayelsa and Kogi elections respectively. 

Adamu announced this at a consultative meeting between INEC and the inter-agency consultative committee on electoral security in Abuja. 

He also assured citizens of the readiness of the police in terms of logistics and personnel for the focal elections, adding that a threat analysis has been done so as to ensure crisis-free elections. 

INEC had earlier announced plans for the upcoming Bayelsa and Kogi governorship elections, holding simultaneously on November 16.
